Our MMA program was introduced in January of 2007 as a result of a joint effort between Avatar owner Stephan Lemercier and submission grappling coach Jamie Wootton.
With Ian's excellent striking skills, and Jamie's extensive submission grappling and MMA coaching, we have created a well-rounded, and effective MMA system.

Our steadily growing Mixed Martial Arts program is attracting more and more interest everyday!
With a half-cage and regulation fight ring in the club, along with MMA classes 5 days per week, we are already seeing the birth of some awesome and passionate fighters. Check back soon and often as our news page receives the results from their future fights.

The system of submission grappling Jamie coaches is based on brazilian jiu-jitsu, japanese, jiu-jitsu, shoot wresting, judo, Greco-Roman wrestling, and freestyle wresting. The program is taught to cover all aspects of MMA fighting from ground, to stand-up and all the transitions in between.
