Kickboxing is a part of our program because it satisfies various conditions we feel were lacking in many traditional martial arts schools.

Kick boxing can be studied by anyone wishing to simply improve their fitness, lose weight, and enjoy the process in a manner that is enjoyable, and fun.

Remember all those boring hours on the weights, or treadmill at the gym? No Longer!

For those of you interested in the kick boxing program here at Avatar,
we break it down to two levels of training.

1. For students whose desire is simply to be in great shape, this is the place to be.
Kick boxing makes a great alternative to the monotony of the gym, and we encourage you to learn the skills of the sport.

Inside Avatar Self-DefenseYour private lessons are a great way to build the skills, and give you further ability for a great workout!

By focusing on improving not only your fitness, but your skill at the sport, you will find your interest persisting longer, and your workouts becoming more intense.

Anyone can windmill their limbs, hop up and down, mimick movements, etc.

However the satisfaction of hitting harder, and moving with purpose, rather than simply copying a "teacher" can't be denied and our long term students understand that the more they pour into their workout, the more they get back.

A young adult fighter at Avatar Self-defense2. We have a group of students at the school who wish to take their training up a step, and compete.
For those students, we also have sparring and contact oriented classes, to prepare you for competition.

By no means do we push students to compete, but if that is your desire, then we encourage your passion.

We have a competition team of kickboxers and mixed martial artists, and have attended several tournaments to great result.
