The backbone of Avatar has long been a martial arts system known as Kenpo, a style of Chinese kung fu.
This style has constantly evolved for over 700 years, and through the persistent work of the Kenpo community, has been made thoroughly practical to the needs of the modern world.
Tracy Kenpo was allegedly the original Kenpo style imported to North America by the late Edward Parker.
The Tracy brothers learned the system from Ed, and apparently kept to the original version of the art, as Ed Parker evolved his own system of American Kenpo.
Stemming from Southern Chinese Kung Fu, Kenpo has, through the work of a number of respected martial artists, evolved into the pared down style adapted to today's world.
Ian Kralt's immediate teacher, Ralph Chinnick, is among the most influential, and respected Tracy Kenpo teachers in Canada.
